365 Film is a sterile, latex free, self-adhesive, waterproof, transparent film wound dressing. The dressing consists of a semi-permeable polyurethane film membrane coated with a hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive. The dressing, when applied properly, is showerproof (patients can shower in their dressings) and impermeable to liquids, bacteria, and viruses.

365 Film is breathable, allowing effective oxygen and moisture vapour exchange with an MVTR of 1176g/m2/24 hours*.

Indications for Use

365 Film can be used as a primary or secondary dressing where there is little or no exudate. For example;
• Cuts and abrasions.
• Clean, closed, post-operative wounds.
• Superficial pressure damage.
• Leg ulcers.
• Protection of donor sites.
• Protection against skin breakdown due to friction or continuous moisture exposure.
• A fixation device for catheters.
• Minor burns.

Preparation for Dressing Application

Ensure that the skin surrounding the wound is clean, dry, and free from oils, creams and soap.
Select a dressing that is of a suitable size and shape. Ensure the dressing has a 2 cm margin around the wound edge.

Dressing Application

1. Peel the liner from the dressing to expose the adhesive surface.
2. Position the dressing centrally over the wound bed.
3. Press the exposed adhesive side of the dressing onto the skin.
4. Slowly remove the frame (which has provided some rigidity to the dressing to enable easy application) while smoothing down the dressing edges.
5. Always smooth dressing down from the inner to the outer edges so the edges stick to the patients’s skin, not lift and roll.
6. When applying to a contoured area, 365 Film may be cut in order to aid adhesion (please note the bacterial barrier property is compromised if the dressing is cut).

Dressing Wear Time

The frequency of dressing change will depend on the clinical circumstances. 365 Film dressings may be left in place for up to 7 days.

If any signs of infection are observed the dressing should be removed. Film dressings are not recommended for use with infected wounds.

Dressing Removal

1. To remove 365 Film from the wound, gently peel and carefully lift one corner of the dressing from the skin.
2. To fully remove the dressing, support the skin whilst stretching the dressing horizontally – parallel to the skin  (not vertically) and in the direction of hair growth. Do not simply lift or “rip off” a film dressing. As you stretch the film dressing the material will go from transparent to white showing the adhesive has weakened and the dressing is no longer adhering to the skin.
3. Care should be taken to avoid skin damage with repeated applications, or on patients with fragile skin.
4. Use existing clinical protocols to clean the wound in order to remove any remaining exudate before wound assessment or the application of further dressings.
